Meet Jeff Liszewski,
Houston County Custom Home Builder

Most builders manage from a desk. Jeff built his reputation on the job site. For over 25 years he has been building custom homes in Perry, Warner Robins, and across Houston County, Georgia. Before that, he was the one swinging the hammer.

Where He Started

He came up the long way.

Jeff started in the trades.

Framing. Roofing. Electrical. Plumbing. Flooring. He learned with his own hands, before he ever ran a job site. Years of climbing on roofs in the Georgia summer, pulling lumber, running ductwork through tight crawl spaces, Wiring and plumbing rooms, and laying floors. He came up the long way.

He started early. Jeff moved to Houston County in 1980 when he was 10 years old. By the time he graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1988, he was already working in the trades for the Houston County Board of Education, applying every one of those skills on local schools and county buildings.

That apprenticeship is why the homes look the way they do today. He has stood in many positions on a job site.

The trades did not just teach him how to build. They taught him what an honest day’s work looks like, and what gets skipped when no one is watching. Both lessons still shape the way he runs a build.

Most builders manage from a desk. Jeff built his reputation on the job site.

Before Jeff was a general contractor/developer, he was building homes with his own hands. When he walks onto a job site today, he is not just reviewing a checklist, Jeff is making sure each job is done correctly from beginning until the very last detail. All while he is passing the years of knowledge along to his team.

The knowledge Jeff holds reflect upon your first interaction with him. His professionalism and passion for his field are unquestionable. He takes pride in excelling and building the best homes in the industry. Once you meet Jeff, the difference in a CUSTOM HOMES by Jeff product will be evident in every way.

Included in Jeff’s building career he was honored to have been chosen to build The St. Jude Dream Home for 4 years in a row. From that opportunity he was voted “National Builder of the Year”.

He has been married to his devoted wife, Stacy, for over 30 years. Together they share two beautiful daughters, Taylor Elaine and Tiffany Amber. Recently they proudly added a new member to their family, son-in-law, Matthew Larre. –all now part of the Custom Homes by Jeff, LLC team.

Today

Over 25 years building custom homes across the same county.

Houston County is Jeff’s home, and his customers are his neighbors. Jeff will see you on the streets, out at dinner or shopping. Knowing that should make you feel comfortable and confident with choosing him as your builder.

Why Houston County

One county.
Twenty-five years.

Some builders follow growth across multiple markets, opening offices and stretching teams thin to keep up.

Jeff has built one place: Houston County. He moved here in 1980. His daughter, Taylor, runs sales for the company today. His wife, Stacy, designs all of the move-in ready homes. His son-in-law is the general manager of day-to-day operations. And every hand selected employee is local to Houston County. Jeff has been working with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the county for the duration of his career here.
He stays here because he knows the vendors, the codes, the seasons, the schools, and the people who buy. When a buyer asks about Local code or the community, he answers from memory, not from a search bar.

A builder working in one county for over 25 years builds a different kind of accountability than a regional chain can. In a local trade community, word travels about which builders pay on time, treat their subs fairly, and stand behind their work. Jeff has answered those questions over and over again, with his name and reputation, in the same county.

“Houston County is Jeff’s home, and his customers are his neighbors. He sees them on the streets, out at dinner, at the grocery store.”

Saddle Creek Farms · Perry, GA

Four contracts.
One day.

The current build, Saddle Creek Farms in Perry, signed four contracts in a single day earlier this year. Word travels in a county like this.

For homebuyers in Perry and Warner Robins, that means something practical: when you buy a Custom Homes by Jeff house, the builder is not three counties away or running a different region. He is local, and he plans to be here next year and the year after.

Recognition

The St. Jude Dream Home.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital builds Dream Homes every year through a network of partner builders across the country. The homes are built at cost or donated, then raffled. The proceeds fund pediatric cancer research and treatment.

Jeff was chosen to build the St. Jude Dream Home for four years in a row.

From that work, in 2013, he was voted National Builder of the Year.

For families building a home with Custom Homes by Jeff, the St. Jude work is a useful window into how Jeff operates. Four years of building Dream Homes for a children’s hospital is not how a builder grows the bottom line. It is how a builder shows what he is willing to put his name on.

How the Work Gets Done

He subcontracts,
and stays close.

Other builders subcontract and step away. Jeff subcontracts and stays close.

He and his team visit the active job sites in person. Not on a checklist tour. They are walking foundations. They are checking corners of the framing job. They are walking every room once sheet rocked and through to the finish line. When something is off, he tells the sub, and it gets redone.
The reason he can do this is the same reason a master mechanic can hear an engine and tell you what is wrong: he has done the work himself, for years, before he ever managed anyone doing it. And his team has learned this same craft.

This is also why he is the developer, not just the builder. He buys the land. He plans the streets and the lots. He picks the floor plans that will go in. From dirt to closing, the same person is making the call.

That structure changes what is possible on a build. Decisions get made faster. Problems get solved without waiting for a regional manager to weigh in. When a buyer wants to change a wall in week six of construction, the answer is yes or no, and it comes from the builder.

A Family Operation

A family business, in the
literal sense.

Custom Homes by Jeff is a family business in the literal sense. The structure is intentional.

Jeff has been married to his wife, Stacy, for over 30 years. They have two daughters: Taylor Elaine and Tiffany Amber. Taylor and her husband, Matthew Larré, have joined the company. Together they are part of how the company runs day to day. And every other team member has become family over the years
Jeff stays focused on the build. Taylor stays focused on the buyer through the House of Larré Group. Stacy supports the home design side. Matthew works with the day-to-day team as general manager. Each does what they do best.

A Note on Credentials

The credential that matters most.

Jeff holds his Georgia residential builder license.

The credential that matters most to him is the one that comes from a buyer who walks through a finished home and sees the difference, the craftsmanship and the service he and his team provide.

For homeowners considering a custom build or planning to build on land they already own, what matters is who shows up on the job site, not what plaques are on the office wall.

The questions buyers in Perry and Warner Robins ask most often before they start a build.

Call Us Directly

How long has Custom Homes by Jeff been in business?

Over 25 years. Recent annual output has run 35 to 45 homes. Jeff stepped back from active building for a five-year period and has since returned.

Yes. Framing, roofing, electrical, HVAC, and flooring. He started in the trades while still in high school, working for the Houston County Board of Education. That hands-on background is the reason he holds subcontractors to a high standard, because he has done the work himself.

Yes, in the literal sense. Jeff founded the company. His daughter Taylor and her House of Larré team handle sales. His wife Stacy supports home design. His son-in-law Matthew Larré works as general manager. The operation is independent and locally owned, with no franchise affiliation, no investor group, and no corporate parent.

It means one person makes the calls from buying the land to handing you the keys. The decisions on a Custom Homes by Jeff build come from Jeff, not a regional manager or a corporate committee. When you have a question about a finish, a wall, or a timeline, you talk to the person who can answer.

He moved here with his family in 1980, when he was 10. He graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1988 and has lived and worked in the county ever since. His business, his family, and his daily life are all rooted here.
